I Took the Internet's Top 10 Things to Do in Queen Creek... Here's What I'd Actually Tell You
I thought this would be kind of fun.
I looked up one of those "Top 10 Things to Do in Queen Creek" lists that tourists and people moving here usually find first. Some of it I completely agree with. Some of it...not so much.
If you've watched my videos for a while, you know I'll tell you what I actually think, not just what sounds nice.
So here's my take.
#10 – Frontier Family Park
Honestly...this should be way higher.
If you have kids, this is one of the best places in Queen Creek.
During the summer, the aquatic center is awesome. The hours can be a little weird, but kids absolutely love it.
The rest of the year it's still worth visiting because you have the huge playground, pickleball courts, indoor recreation center, walking paths, and plenty of room to spread out.
I'd move this much closer to the top.
#9 – Desert Donkey Experiences
This one actually surprised me.
I've lived here for years, and somehow I've never heard of it.
That doesn't mean it's bad. It obviously has great reviews, and now I'm curious enough that I want to go check it out myself before I recommend it.
So for now...I'll leave this one as "to be determined."
#8 – Queen Creek Marketplace
This is probably my biggest disagreement.
The Marketplace is convenient.
It's where you'll find Target, restaurants, shopping, Costco nearby...
But it's not really an attraction.
If someone flew into town and asked me what they should go experience in Queen Creek, this wouldn't even cross my mind.
#7 – Founders' Park
It's fine. If you have little kids and need somewhere to burn an afternoon at the splash pad, it's a solid option.
But once you've been a couple times...You've kind of done it.
I wouldn't put it this high.
#6 – Pecan Lake Entertainment
This one deserves better.
Honestly...I'd probably put it in my Top 3.
Mini golf, ropes course, axe throwing, barbecue, live music...It's just a fun place to spend an evening.
One thing I'd mention though...Summer isn't the ideal time.
October through April is when this place really shines.
If you asked me where to take family or friends visiting Queen Creek...This would be one of my first suggestions.
#5 – Horseshoe Park
This should also be higher.
Most people think rodeos and stop there.
There's actually a lot more planned for Horseshoe Park than people realize, and I did an entire breakdown on another post.
If you missed it, send me a message and I'll send you the link because I think it's one of the more important projects happening in Queen Creek.
#4 – San Tan Mountain Regional Park
This one's definitely worth doing.
It's a beautiful hike that's only a short drive away.
If you're into mountain biking, there are some decent trails too.
Would I tell someone it's the best hiking or biking in the Valley?
Probably not. But a couple visits a year? Absolutely.
#3 – Mansel Carter Oasis Park
It's a good park.
I just don't think it's a Top 3 attraction anymore.
Ever since Frontier Family Park opened, I think Frontier has become the better overall destination for families.
I'd probably swap those two.
#2 – Schnepf Farms
Schnepf deserves to be near the top.
The seasonal events are what make it.
Pumpkin & Chili Party. Christmas at Schnepf. Peach season. That's when I'd go.
Personally...I don't think you need to go to every event every year.
After a while, it loses a little of the magic, and weekend crowds can get pretty intense.
Still...If you've never been, it's absolutely worth experiencing.
#1 – Queen Creek Olive Mill
No argument from me. It belongs here.
I still find myself going multiple times a year.
Whether it's lunch, bringing people from out of town, or just grabbing olive oil and walking around for a bit...
It's one of those places that really feels like Queen Creek.
The One Place They Completely Missed...
This one surprised me. San Tan Flat.
I honestly expected it to make the list.
If you want great food, live music, a lively atmosphere, fire pits, dancing, and that old western feel Queen Creek has always been known for...
This is one of the first places I'd recommend.
Technically it's right on the border of Queen Creek and San Tan Valley, but I'd still count it.
I'm shocked it didn't make the internet's Top 10.
My Final Thoughts
Overall, I think the internet got a few of these right.
Olive Mill? Absolutely.
Schnepf? Definitely.
But Frontier Family Park deserves to be much higher.
Pecan Lake is criminally underrated.
Queen Creek Marketplace shouldn't even be on the list.
And San Tan Flat absolutely deserves a spot.
If you're moving to Queen Creek, planning a visit, or just wondering what else is worth checking out, send me a message. I'm always happy to share my favorites...or tell you which places are worth the drive and which ones I'd probably skip.
